Insult to Injury

My friend Sara Q shared “an interesting paper I recently found entitled, "Menstrual Taboos Among Major Religions." As if all the other aspects of the monthly cycle weren’t troubling enough. “Highlighs” include menstrual huts (which still exist, and pose physical threats to women forced to reside there), ancient concepts of impurity and the ability to be harmed by proximity to menstruating women, and developing a sense of shame and disgust with oneself in response to this naturally occurring aspect of having a uterus.
